Seasonal Wellness:
The Benefits

Just as the rhythm of night & day determines our energy, so every new season has a powerful impact on our body & well-being. Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter - all come with their own qualities and challenges. Our Seasonal Rituals realign and redirect to the natural flow of life.

By combining Holistic Massage with the energy of the season a unique wellness ritual is born. In Spring the ritual helps you to relax, detox and grow vitality from within. By tuning into the rhythm of nature and focusing on the corresponding Wood Element (Liver & Galbladder / Feet ), the positive effects of massage & touch are enhanced.

Other benefits of our Seasonal Rituals are:

* Stress Reduction
* Tension Release
* Greater Awareness & Sharpened Senses
* Improved Circulation & Energy Flow
* Body-Mind Alignment

What to Expect
in Your Session

In this 2-hour session you experience & explore the energetic qualities of spring in your body: movement, purification, flexibility. With nature as our guide - the dynamic east wind, refreshing spring rains and alluring plum blossom - we awaken our senses.

The ritual starts with a welcoming tea ceremony & a short meditation. After you will be guided to the massage table, where your whole body will be given loving attention. Gentle touches & sensations are alternated with more firm massage strokes, for instance of the feet.

Sounds, pulses and swings align your body to the rhythm of the new season. The rinsing of the meridians helps to release stagnant energy and detox. Twists and stretches are incorporated to support flexibility and create space for new opportunities and growth. More about the energetic qualities of Spring, you can read here.

During the ritual a wide variety of techniques are used, like holistic pulsing (the gentle rocking of the body), shiatsu (pressure & stretching of your energetic body) and sound healing (singing bowls).

Element: Wood

In Chinese medicine the spring is determined by the element Wood, that symbolizes creativity & development. In the shift that takes place from Yin to Yang the upward energy supports our growth and renewal. It is the perfect time for new beginnings and to bring ideas and plans to the light.

Meridians: Liver & Galbladder

The Liver & Galbladder meridian form a powerful team. Together they make sure the Qi is smoothly flowing and that our joints are flexible. It is the suppleness (buigzaamheid) of young tree branches that allow them to survive the spring-storms. The same applies to our bodies and minds - can we bend with the storms of life?

Special focus:
Feet

Now that winter is over - the period of rest and nourishment - it is time to show our heads above the ground. Sustainable growth however, is only possible when we are firmly rooted. In this ritual there is extra attention therefore for our feet, which are our roots connecting us to the earth.
